Become a Community First Business, Organization or Citizen

We need each other. From the Carson City Nugget’s point of view, we depend on each other in this small, tightly knit community, for everything from earning our livelihood to educating our children. We are all dependent on this city’s collective economic, political, social, educational and religious resources – in fact, that is what makes us a community.

The Carson City Nugget's main street location has given us a front porch view of the Carson community. We are keenly aware of the economic struggles going on around us. All of us are struggling – businesses, families, charities and government agencies. We, too, feel the impact of Carson City's deeply strained resources. If we want to be a healthy business, we recognize that our community has to be healthy, too.

The Nugget management has adopted Community First as our mission. We want to be a blessing to our customers, our employees, our suppliers, our neighbors, our government, our visitors and all of Carson’s citizens. We are able to act on this mission at a time when others who might wish to are not be able to, because we are owned by a Trust that believes in Community First.

If you’ve spent time at the Carson City Nugget, you’ve probably seen Community First in action. We wear pins displaying a gold heart surrounded by the words "Community First," we include the icon in our ads, stick it in our mailers, and put it on every page of our Web site. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg … Community First is a heartfelt commitment to work hard and help Carson City in ways big and small.
